YES! Scream it from the rooftops. We misunderstand that couples therapy will help all relationships, when really it only helps when you have two interested involved engaged partners who are safe for each other. I have been in unsafe situations and tried couples therapy--doesn't matter the method or the training, if one person is lying or abusive, it exacerbates the danger and makes the more vulnerable person even more scared, lonely and doubting themselves.
